I really hateeeee how much of the book the synopsis gives away lol I’m a sucker for a solid shifter fated mates romance, so I read it anyway and it….wasn’t too bad. I’ve definitely read worse, and it had some cute moments. My biggest complaint is that this has SO much potential but Ms.Wolf, please just change the title, fix the synopsis and do a little more proofreading.

I tend to give indie authors more grace but there were frequent misspellings of the main antagonist’s name and it…was driving me crazy because I kept thinking she was talking about someone else. I really liked the cooking scenes though. Please write a cooking centered cozy fantasy!

There were also some plot inconsistencies that kept coming up throughout the book, and that alone made be think this is a baby indie author, so I was ready to give her a slight pass…BUT Ms.Wolf has about 60 other books soooooo I’m thinking she just writes for fun and doesn't care too much about the plot šŸ˜‚. I probablyyyyy won’t read more of this series unless I get super bored.

  • šŸ¤³šŸ¾ Calling all bookfriends!

Sooooo, I'm currently stuck 160pgs from the end of The Desert Storm by Peter V. Brett, and I've been stuck here for about two weeks because the characters are pissing me off so much 😭. I love this series SOO much so far, but I'm SO annoyed 😠. Everytime I pick it back up I get annoyed and it's putting me in SUCH a slump.

This isn't about quality or world building, it's just about a few things in the plot that are going differently than I expected ( which, is definitely my own fault for preemptively accepting my predictions as fact šŸ’”)...and now my literary heart is in shambles. I feel like a distraught yet enraged Hollywood wife who's P.I. just confirmed that their spouse has been slipping away for midnight dallainces with their rich best friend.

Anyone experience something similar? What book broke your heart? Which characters (or series) had you shutting the book in a fit of rage and just sitting in silence for a while?

Give me all the details (as spoiler free as you can, ofc)! I need book friends to grieve with lol 🤧.

  • Trigger Warning Tags Question

I saw this mentioned in the forum but didn't see any comments about if this is possibly in the works or not. Does anyone know if trigger warning tags are going to be added to books?

I was thinking of adding a blurb to my reviews but it might be too late for people that want to avoid certain things going in. I know you can use other tracking apps like Storygraph, but was curious what the plan is for Pagebound šŸ¤”. I’m sure not everyone would use them, but I figure it might be a nice addition for those that rely on them.

    🤩

There were so many things that I loved about this book! This was an awesome continuation to the series, and I look forward to book three. There were parts of this book that seriously drove me crazy near the, but thats my own fault for trying to predict the future šŸ„²šŸ˜‚. I loved the progression of character and getting in depth exposure to the background of all supporting MCs.

Brett does an awesome job of making sure readers understand the choices of each character, no matter how controversial they are. It really helps put their actions in perspective and you gain a deeper understanding around the role they play within the plot.

One thing that surprised me was the shift of POVs to new characters that were only minor characters in the first book. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but you see the why behind it pretty quickly.

I can't wait to learn more about the demons and love how each book really brings you closer to the full picture. I really love that instead of revealing the depth of the problem right away, Brett makes sure you find out the bigger picture at the same time the characters do. Here's to hoping book three keeps the same energy!
