Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC.
It was not keeping my interest after the synopsis sounded so intriguing. For a plot dealing with rival magicians whose magic depends on their ruling planet they were born in, court intrigue, murder of a crown prince who were best friends with the FMc and MMC, and a family trying to get power, it was pretty boring. I DNF on a scene that should have been exciting and add more to the plot but end up being boring. There should have been a lot of drama going on since the base of this story was the Tudor dynasty. The FMC powers are cool for being moon born which she can shift to any human or animal but she was bland along with her MMC that had pink hair. The narration didn’t make it any better with how bland the narrator was.

Brainbow is a story about a 6th grader Rosie and her best friend Harper who decided to join the math club together since they didn't have any classes together in school. Rosie wanted to join the art club but Harper insisted they join the math club. Upon taking the entrance exam to join the math club Rosie notices that she assigns a color to a number or a word which she though everyone does but her fellow classmates does not.She meets Yara, a girl who is not only new to this town and her school but also has the same abilities as her. They form a friendship in this story about finding your voice, your own path, and your real friends.
This would have been rated higher since it was a great way to introduce and show kids the concept of synesthesia but Rosie's "best friend" Harper needs to be snatched up. She's supposed to be Rosie's friend but she's very pushy towards Roise and literally runs over her . It was Harper's idea to join the math club since that's what she wanted to do without Rosie's input. I know these are 11 year olds in the 6th grade but Harper literally bullies her and does something that should have gotten her kicked off the team and suspended from school but does not face any major consequences for her behavior. All the kids are just mean to Roise and Harper doesn’t defend her but literally edge it on.
As you can tell Roise was very shy at the beginning but found her voice at the end. Yara was one of the only kids that was kind to Rosie and was nice to see their friendship blossom. At the end of the story, it was actually a blessing in disguise that Rosie and Harper didn't have any classes together.

Apothecary Diaries Vol 1 is the manga adaptation of the light novel which is also adapted to the first ten episodes for the first season of the anime. Since I already watched the first ten episodes of the anime ( need to go back and finish the season lol) it was pretty much a refresher for me dealing with the MaoMao adventures inside palace walls and the cast of characters she met there. It also includes a bonus short story that haven been adapted to manga format at the end. So this is great to read if you want to read before you watch the anime or do both at the same time.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing manga for #CampNetgalley.
I wanted to read this since the anime have been popping up on my tittok so it interest me. Well after readding the manga, I probably will not be watching the anime after all. The art work and story is good but I'm not particularly found of our Protagonist, Coco for some reason. Since this story is about her journey into being a witch to save her mom, that's why I will not being watching the anime or finishing the manga. Everything felt a little easy when Coco had one magical lesson and somehow was able to pull through the test she had to become an apprentice. I only liked the two of the side characters for the most part. The world building and the lore on how to spells were interesting.

DNFED @ 41%
In the introduction of the book, the author said that they will be using the books of the sole source and not anything from the movies, Curse Child Stage Play, interviews in or supplemental materials in this character study. In a chapter recapping the events of the first book, they proceed to use a head canon as their source. So we are not going to use actual source material that would be consider the movies and Curse Child ( regardless how people feel about it) to back up our claims but use headcanon which is one personal canon. I really thought this was going to be a deep dive literature analysis on Voldemort and not a play-by-play recap from the books of things you already know if you read the books with speculation from the author. I wanted a breakdown of Voldemort's actions throughout all six books and not the author's personal opinion on what Voldemort's favorite drink or chair was. The only thing decent about this book is the narrator.

I really enjoyed this book even though some moments did piss me off because of the cultish behavior but the ending didn’t do it for me because there were still some unanswered questions. Also the fact FMC went through that much ( almost got killed and framed for someone potential murder) just to get revenge was kind of unbelievable. I sort of like the romance because it gives somewhat a reprieve to the main plot that was happening.

Six wealthy teenagers spend spring break at a luxury resort until one of them ends up dead. Which for the six, it's not the first time one of them in that friend group has ended up that way.
I had to dnf because I found myself not caring about the kids and the mystery behind the murder. There were also too many mini pow chapters with side characters besides the main six characters and their chapters. Honestly I think the book would have been better if it was solely a Tiffany D Jackson book. It pays more into her strengths as being a mystery/ thriller writer instead of it being a balance between all six authors. The narration was ok but couldn't keep me interested.
I honestly enjoyed and recommend Blackout and I still need to read Whiteout
