The Last Dream

TimeEnoughAtLast commented on TimeEnoughAtLast's review of Alabama v. King: Martin Luther King Jr. and the Criminal Trial That Launched the Civil Rights Movement
When I was visiting Amsterdam, I met a Swedish man who, when I said I was from Alabama, he sneered and said (something like) "Not much going on there, is it?" And I said, "Well actually, Alabama was the heart of civil rights movement that echoed around the world." (A really interesting conversation to have outside the Anne Frank Huis.)
One thing about me is that I will always defend Alabama for what it does right and being the home of the people who were loud enough and brave enough to fit against injustices and changed the law of the land is something I will continuously remind y'all of. đ
This book is a perfect example of how calculated the Bus Boycott was and lays the foundation to understand the many daily injustices of that time. It also does a great job of humanizing the men and women who were a part the movement at that time.
The audiobook has a bonus interview with Gray at the end.
Anyway, boycotts work, bye! đđž
