Hello! I'm curious about how others see readalongs here. I found myself really wanting to read all of the books, but then I know some of them are not my cup of tea, plus there's other books I want to read much more. My problem being that I'm a sort of a collectioner and I'm a sucker for limited and FREE stuff. 😭 Do you focus on them when choosing a book to read? Or maybe you prioritize your tbr and for how long a book has been waiting there? Or just your general mood? I definitely am more of a mood reader, but it makes my reading a little inconsistent 😅

Who else has banned themselves from buying new books because of their substantial physical tbr and who else is quite bad at upholding that ban haha I've become very aware of over consumerism over the last couple of years and am trying to adjust my bad habits but sometimes I can't help but grab a new book every once and a while

It's a difficult book that I have to be in a specific mood to read. I've noticed, that no matter if it's an audiobook or an ebook, after I read a few pages, I sometimes have no idea what I just read. Probably because English is my second language and it's an older writing. So I'm thinking about changing to my native language for this one and if not, then I might have to listen and read at the same time to it 😭 Anyone feeling the same way?

I've been looking to follow more people, so curious about how everyone else does it! Do you have friends irl that you've invited here? Do you use the "% overlap"? Do you find folks you vibe with in the discussions and just add them? I've tried the "readers with similar taste" list in the Discover page, but because it suggests people based on them having at least one book similar to mine in the "My Taste" section, I think it works better for people who have fairly uniform taste in books (e.g. typically reading from one or two genres, which I don't) and also leans towards matching based on books that have been widely read by the Pagebound community.

"How could you communicate with the future? It was of its nature impossible. Either the future would resemble present, in which case it would not listen to him: or it would be different from it, and his predicament would be meaningless." Kinda real? Chat is this real?

Once I go on Pagebound, I spend SO MUCH time in here, that I have no time to doomscroll anymore LOL. It's great, but it also makes me think that I don't have enough lifetime to read all of the books T-T I love how much it motivates me to read tho and I started listening to audiobooks thanks to people's recommendations!

This is a difficult read. I had an anxious day and this skyrocketed my uneasiness. I'm appalled that a blurb on the cover says "extremely funny"... I mean, she has a very unique way of telling her life story, but it has so many tragic and unpleasant layers I would never just describe this book like that (It may be just taken out of context, but nonetheless). I had to put down the book at night and watch some light hearted kdrama to distract myself. (Could also be that I am too intense and feel to much? Probably).
