I got the blessing of being able to read the e-print and audio versions of this book. I was not sure what to expect going into this as some of my debut author reads kind of fell flat... but this book... boy was I pleasantly surprised! The narrator for the audio did a wonderful job bringing all the character POVs to life! I had the best time listening to them read this story. Eira's character absolutely brilliantly written... character I most related to in this story. Hugo's character ARC was problematic and troublesome but I LIVED for his growth the whole time!! Rhona I wasn't sure what to expect especially in the beginning but man had me on the edge of my seat to find out..... really with all the characters I absolutely NEED more of this story. The plot was absolutely fantastically written! The mystery of Eira's missing memory was fun to learn along with her. The author is a wonderful storyteller! I did spend most of the beginning and middle of this book sitting around a 4 star rating not sure exactly where it was going to go, but the rest of the middle and end of this book really got me and fell in love being able to rate it a 5 star!

This was my introduction to both the series and the author. Which makes this read interesting as through research it looks to be a set of stories you would read later (currently last) in the series. Consisting of 3 stories of a world I was thrown into without any context, I still very much enjoyed it. The Trickster especially was my favorite character; full of heart, fun, and chaos was really fun to read. I believe the reading level for the series is marked as new adult, this book in particular read to me like upper middle grade/YA which I think I would of liked more if I didn't walk into the story so blind (my choice obviously), but for me definitely got to be in the mood for the way the story is read. Also, I read this via audiobook and the narration was nice. I don't have anything too notable to say about it, was clean and easy to listen to. It has peaked my interest in more of the series as the characters are well written, I love the disability rep, and am wanting to know more about what happens to these characters in a main story plot.
