A most stunning read, Fanny Price's quiet strength and tremendous integrity of character and resolute principles are in no way less impressive than other Austen heroines. I may start to believe Fanny is the only character worth falling in love with, for all others have quite obvious and loud flaws which I'm unable to ignore. A rather complicated body of work, with quiet nods to the political climate of the era, which is more prominent than in other works of the author. The "antagonists" (if I may call them that) have been exceptionally well written, in the names of Henry and Mary Crawford, with nuance and delicacy which allows the readers to dissect the origins of their "evil". A 5 star read for me, for sure. I would pick it up again and again for pleasurable rumination.
