Sometimes you need to read a reverse harem smutfest involving a few psychotic men. What else can I say? I definitely did not stay up until 2am binging this. No for sure I was in bed and asleep at 11 pm like I promised myself I'd be.
The basic premise of this world involves radiation messing shit up. Maybe nuclear bombs were dropped? I can't remember. Stop judging me. I read this yester night half drunk on exhaustion and was not there for the plot alright? The only reason I know it involved something to do with radiation is because Ivy and Thane lore dump within the first few pages. Thanks guys but also sorry. It was gone from my brain within the first 30 pages. To be honest, I only remember radiation because I paused at the word irradicated and had to look up a definition. Look at me learning in my trashy romances.
So nuclear bombs. Sure. We basically destroyed ourselves which seems well realistic. But don't worry. This goes from legitimate end of the world possibility to fanfic real fast. Because in this dystopia alphas, betas, and omegas emerged. If you're asking how or why, you really should just head on out from the AOB club because it gets worse. First rule we don't discuss any logistics here. Science and practicality and AOB usually do not mix. Knots? Scent marking? Biting? Slick? Yeah that exists and we go rabid at it with no thoughts only vibes.
Okay so Ivy is Feral. Honestly mood. On a psychological level, I would rather be an earth worm over an omega. Because this is extreme hurt comfort, our girl has been starved and abused for over six months as society tries to reform her. It goes into some detail on what she endured but not all. So I'm not sure everything that happened. But needless to say I would've fucking folded in her shoes. She ends up getting placed with Ghost Alpha Unit.
Let me introduce you to our unstable insane alpha love interests.
First, there's Thane. Man is pretty sure he is the most stable one in the group but I beg to differ. He runs the unit but only because the rest of them are lazy. He is quite frankly the most boring to me and his name is the only normal one in the group.
Next, please meet Plague. Man wears a doctor plague mask and I dig it. He is the resident doctor. Germphobic. Manipulative bastard and smooth as ice.
After that, there's Whiskey. Man is a whiny closeted bisexual disaster and I remain enthused by it. I love me bitchy men that are insecure in books.
Then there is Valek. He is the collared serial killer psychopath. Because of course he is. Man embodies the energy of let me kill them please because it's fun. Ironically my least favorite character beating out even Thane.
And finally, there is Wraith. I want you to know, truly understand, I am reading this entire series for Wraith. Man wears a mask to cover horrible facial scarring and is unable to speak. Every single one of the other men is wary of him. Probably because he snaps and best of luck you avoid him when he does. His chapters and relationship to Ivy remain my favorite so far.
So the Ghost Alpha Unit does the dirty work for the government. They also are going off the rails. Turns out five alphas that are all crazy in their own way is not conducive to a stable working team environment. So they get paired with Ivy. And the men may be unwell on every level but they do their best to care for a traumatized and fierce omega. They may be batshit nuts but they aren't inclined to be evil to an omega even if she is as unhinged as they are.
So the story follows their forced relationship. And I devoured it. The plot mainly focuses on character relationships. But there is a mission at the end. Also there may or may not be a heat. Book two is already downloaded and you know where to find me. Aka with 3 cats in bed with this series.
