I really enjoyed reading The Midnight Shift. If you're looking for a book that is translated in depth, keeping the narrative and nuance, - not literal translation, this book is perfect! I could not tell that this was a translated book, which is sometimes obvious with some Korean translation novels.
The three perspectives were intertwined in a way that builds suspense and wondering as you read the following chapter. The author (or in this case translator) provides detailed background on the characters while keeping some aspects hidden, allowing the reader to continue to discover more, increasingly interesting background as the books progressed. The plot also develops at a good speed so nothing seems slow/ boring (at least to me!)
