I love this app so much and i love the discussions I've had on this platform.
I personally think a cool feature would be to be able to tag another user in a post or something.
Sometimes I read something or see a title and think, wow, I think this would be up this user's alley or whatnot.
Also sometimes I want to give credit to someone and say I added a book because I say @ this user likes it or their review.
I was curious if anyone else thought of this. Or what their thoughts are on it. 😊 I am also curious whether people think this is a bad idea for any reason. Open to hearing from people
Not the end of the world either way and I'm more than satisfied with the experience on this app ❤️

hi y'all! it's my second week on pagebound, and i would love to make some new bookish friends : ) hopefully i'm in the right place for this!
about me: -i'm an early twentysomething woman of color -favorite tropes/themes: found family, friends to lovers, invisible string tying together many different characters and it comes together at the end, the author trusts us to deduce things, realistic/bittersweet endings, NEED HAPPY ENDINGS LOL, diverse cast, old people solving mysteries, healing, FOOODDDDD, well-developed characters apart from the mc's, a central place where the cast comes together (like in HP the common rooms)
here are my favorite genres and books: -queer media of any form, recently into graphic novels! -cozy mysteries, crimes, thrillers -magical realism, translated korean literature -love plot twists, strong women, diverse voices, books where they stay with you a long time
open to: -sci fi -dystopia -romance -fantasy (but not the ones with a lot of worldbuilding - i just got back into reading and my attention span is not strong enough to remember it all just yet enough to enjoy this genre)
not that into: -classics -non-poc works -nonfiction -romantasy -spicy books
i'm open to recs and reading together! all my love to y'all!

Audio books previously sounded like a waste of time but I’ve also been wanting to give them a chance :) Do you guys listen to audiobooks often? And from where do you listen to them???

Okay, so last year I discovered my love of this subgenre after reading Butcher & Blackbird and Lights Out, and I just finished Tourist Season and since I have to WAIT until JUNE for the next book, I NEED something to fill that void.
As someone who reads mostly rom-coms, I’m not the biggest fan of DARK dark romance, but give me a book about two serial unalivers falling in love with hilarity and unhinged hijinks? I’m in. I enjoy suspense (that’s a lie… I friggin LOVE it), but I also like having the comedy that balances it out.
Got any recs? I do plan on finally finishing the Ruinous Love trilogy, as well as Navessa Allen’s newest release, but I would love to have more to add to my tbr 🫶🏻

I'm asking this purely out of curiosity. I tend to look up reviews after I've finished a book already because I want to know what other people think of it. I RARELY look up reviews beforehand; I don't want them to influence my impression of a book, since I know tastes are subjective. The only exception to this is monthly roundups people do of their reading, where they share little reviews of what they read throughout the month, but I think that's different since I'm not going out of my way to look up reviews of a specific book.
I'm interested in hearing why you read reviews!

I saw something today and I’m really curious what other readers think.
Someone commented on an author’s personal Instagram post to say they weren’t a fan of the new book. The author replied with “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” The person who posted the screenshot felt icky about the author’s response.
Personally, I didn’t think the author was out of line. I don’t really see the point of going onto an author’s own page just to drop a negative comment. That isn’t a review, it’s just putting criticism directly in front of the author for no real reason. Review platforms exist for a reason.
I also saw someone comment back to me about this ‘but sometimes authors don’t read reviews and won’t see it’ and I just always felt reviews are for other readers? I don’t know. And also how is ‘I didn’t like this book’ helpful in any way and why does it need to be seen?
That’s just me. What do you all think? Is it fine to leave negative opinions on an author’s page, or should that stuff stay on review sites instead?
Curious to hear everyone’s take.
