respite from the plight of "fast fashion" books 🕯️🧚♀️
i'm lowkey sick of reading poorly written and structured novels to escape my fear of excellently written and structured works of art. these are all the books i feel that way about in my physical collection. some i've already read and are covert recommendations for you!

IM STILL MOURNING THE TITLE MEDIEVALLY BLONDE!!! Curse you copyright and legal infringements ugh.
I’ve decided: Murphy is my spirit animal for 2026. Move out of the way year of the horse, it’s actually year of Murphy. Period. I’ve never encountered a dobhar-chú in any of my fantasy novels so I’m so glad Cait included one!!!
The communication was so healthy in this book??? Every single miscommunication, be it minor or major, was handled so well and immediately that I was not subjected to the horrors of the miscommunication trope. THANK YOU.
And Ronan and Clías relationship was so sincere and genuine, I loved seeing their connection form and transcend. It was such a perfect procession. I can’t say that about many books… .
OMG I loved the expected and unexpected friendships between Clía and those around her and how she found out more about herself from them. I love how Cait represented Ronan’s disability, not as something that defines him in a diminishing way.
This book is pretty similar to Legally Blonde in literally every aspect but I liked the familiarity. I loved the academic setting and the vibes of Elle trying to get into Harvard were immaculately replicated 😚. I want to get up early in the morning because of this book and exercise my strength away for the day. Preferably with a hot man (hehe pia ur FS not gonna agree if you even read this and ur probably recoiling in disgust at this).
I do wish we covered a little bit more of the world of Inismian. HOWEVER I did get the vibe Cait would want to explore more in this world. There is so many places we could go. TPK is a standalone but perhaps it could be part of a series of interconnected standalones??? There’re so many couples and kingdoms we can delve into and I can tell Cait left some strings untied so they can further develop those storylines. That makes me GIDDY HEHHEE xx I’m so excited to see what Cait writes next omg. This book had me perched at the edge of my seat and missing my bus stops from how entranced I was. Love love loved this book uggggggh.
Need. More. Medieval. ROMANCES.
