Personally, the perfect audiobook speed for me is 1.5x but when I’m really in the zone I like to go to 2x. My husband’s is a strict 1x and I have a coworker who only listens to her audiobooks on 2x speed! I was just curious to see what other people’s perfect audiobook speeds are!

Good morning Bookaholics!
Its been a few days but I'm back with another question of the day 😌
I have been stuck in assignment season at university, so my question is for you all:
Have you ever been personally offended by a book?
(Every academic reading ever....)

And got my first request denied. I'm cowabummed out 😔
Do you have any recs from the "read now" NetGalley UK section? I keep staring at the titles, but I'm worried of tanking even more my ratio 🤣 I picked a bad choice once, and it costed me dropping to 67% from 100%, and getting a pending request denied (either that or bc I'm not on am*zon, publisher is vague in their preferences page).
I saw there's Grief Eater as "read now" and I have it in my interested list since a review on here made me curious about it... but idk if I have enough brainpower for that 😅 at the same time, I'm worried that I will get denied again if I try requesting something unless I bring back up my feedback ratio. 🙃 maybe I should focus back on my actual tbr...
EDIT: thank you for your patience, boundlings. 🙇🏻♂️ I went into a bit of a spiral this morning after seeing the rejection mail and I started worrying about the % and "what if I request something and I end up DNFing again?" or "what could I read to be 100% sure I will like it and finish it and leave feedback?" ...and 100% worded the soup of thoughts in my head in the worst way possible. 🙇🏻♂️ I will persevere, and if I will get denied...whatever, I still have a physical TBR to deal with 🤣 For sure, I will not give in to impulse moments like I did with this DNF-d ARC. My fault, completely.

🍀🍀 May the gas prices decrease and the day’s luck increase for you 🍀🍀
Currently reading book 3 of 12 for the year! I think I’ll be able to exceed my yearly goal from the looks of it!

Happy May, everyone! Hope everyone has a great month filled with love and happiness!
What goals or plans do you have for the month? These can be book related or just random goals you have!
I'll go first - my goals for the month are to read at least 4 books and a non-book related goal is to finish my uni assignment for the summer break!

Hello everyone! Happy 1st of May! I have been discussing with a few book friends which type of book they prefer: Ebooks or physical books. Most of them say they prefer physical ones. I can't really decide. Ebooks are definitely cheaper and if I make a mistake while annotating I can just erase it, HOWEVER physical books are a different experience.
So do you prefer physical books? Or Ebooks? And why??

Are you reading an ARC that you are loving? Is your friend writing a book? Do you know a small writer that is trying to show their work to the world? Share them on here!! 🙂↕️
I am spanish and I am in a constant search for smaller english, american or just bilingual authors. Most of them have really great books, and their ePub prices are really reasonable (not like some publishing companies. Sorry but 18€ for a digital copy of a bestseller is crazy work).
This is why I wanted to create a little place to find more affordable and great options to hype up. Let us know the titles and the genre, and if you want why do you love them!
