I like my castles cold, my moors windswept, and my heroines swooning.

I don't know if it's just the audiobook narrator, or the book itself.. but it sounds like having a text book narrated and I cannot be doing with that đ I'll try the physical book again maybe at some point

Struggling a bit with the 5+ new character names/ titles/ place namedrops/ general lore every single page. So far I'm finding the world building a bit clumsy, because it doesn't seem to have much room to breathe and get familiar with one character/ concept before it quickly introduces several more. Persevering because it's a friend's favourite book, and I trust her.
adripeach commented on adripeach's review of Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture
Phenomenal, engaging, and at times bleak. I originally watched a youtube essay sh*tting on this book, and it made me want to read it to form my own opinion: it was so worth it, as Filterworld completely disrupted the way in which I engage with platforms. I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed Chayka's take on algorithms. Full of cross-referencing with authors, artists, curators, and researchers, but without coming across as conceited nor pretentious. An absolute must read đ€
