What a great fan fic 🥲 I would have loved this was I a 16 year old teenager discovering smut. I found the murder mistery predictable and the characters one-dimensional. Addie's entire personality was drinking and getting turned on by being scared. Zade had a god complex, was misogynistic and his POV had me cringing. One thing I especially hated was how he kept saying, oh Addie will definitely be the mother of my kids, like... what in the breeding kink? No, stop, please, let her be independent and make her own decisions, but I guess this was never intended. Whoever's into this kind of plot, please... go to therapy.

I love that period of my reading habits where I decide to read like 10 books at a time

At the end of last year, my tiktok was suddenly filled with people making spreadsheets for elaborately tracking their book. So I made one too. It was FULL of info. More than you could ever need. And I was good with it at first. All through january I filled it in after finishing every book. But it just took so long. So I figured I could just write notes in my phone and fill it in later. And the list in my phone got longer and longer. Until I decided to do something about it today. After having spent ages logging, and still having sooo many books left, I just thought: "who am I doing this for?" I didn't really need all that info. I don't think I'd ever actually read it after it was filled in anyway. So I deleted the entire thing. All to say; you don't have to put a ton of effort into track your reading, if you don't want to. A lot of people love it, but if you can't be bothered, there's no pressure. You can just read the book, and have that be it.

This is starting off so funny and interesting 😭 older (2020 is... 5 years... ago.... what..) books tend to have more distinct feel to it Imagine just waking corpses up just to talk with hahaha! Hopefully this read goes well. Manually added it here on Pagebound so I don't think it's that well known?

This is really a nice book if you're hungover with Nocticadia. Same eerie setting of an isolated castle that houses an academia and us discovering all the mysteries in it. I avoided trying to compare the two books since it had a really different flow on the thrill and mystery. Here are my review points because my mind is a mess: • Initially, I thought the story seemed to pace quick. Esp for the romantic element, you'll already see the "obsession" around 30-ish%? That threw me quite off because I felt like the chemistry was off and the romance goes far beyond the list of what I am expecting from this book. • Going back, there were reasons why it was paced early... but still didn't throw off my thoughts that they had no connection at all (that's not sexual) • With that, I warn the mass that you will have to encounter a lot of sexual scenes. • Corvina was a unique character, though I wasn't able to connect w her much, I liked her and how she went around with her own issues. I wouldn't trust Vad tho if it were me (like how hot is he even) • This book has more thrillers and horrors than Nocticadia does. But similarly, they were debunked medically and this also cannot be categorized as fantasy. • The mystery really caught me til the end of the book. The plot twist actually creeped me out, I got scared yes, yes I know. Hah! • I didn't expect that there was a teaser for another book? Which I have no idea if it's under works or just an open end. Nonetheless, the bonus chapter made it so that there could be another installment to this book. Overall, I liked this book! Hit or miss for some especially if you got used to Nocticadia as a first read but we can't compare two books as parallel mirrors right? Wish it was longer though! Looking forward for the next one.

I was thinking among the many cool features already present here, it would be nice to have an option to post status on our profiles for sharing bookish thoughts and have people interact with you. What does everyone think?

I’m new here 🥲 looking for book friends on here. I primarily read suspense/psych thrillers/memoirs but I occasionally go outside of my comfort zone. Fable: https://fable.co/lindsey-184382175270?referralID=13m6WkaXXv Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/157114819-lindsey

This 4.5 star read is for the light-read-no-plot-contemporary(?)-romance library I have in my head. One of the best palate cleanser I read. Literally the plot is the title. There is a proper story but it is a light read so there's not much of conflicts nor phenomenal explanations. I love it, it's so funny, would've given it 5 stars if there wasn't much reference to Tiktok? But it's a personal preference, i'm not really one to like fast trends even on contemporary stories. Didn't know the other book, "My Vampire Plus One" is literally the 2nd book standalone lol I thought they just have similar cover art and a ranging VAMPIRE on the title 😆

aerishaireads commented on Devin's review of Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)
Empire of Storms provides thrilling entertainment alongside profound emotional depth through its meticulous storylines and well-crafted character growth. Maas organically develops her narrative world while pushing tension to extreme apocalyptic stakes to deliver genuine threat which many fantasy series fail to achieve. This book excels by skillfully merging separate elements from earlier volumes to form a unified storyline. Minor worldbuilding details including The Little Folk and Ansel of Briarcliff become essential parts of Aelin's main plan demonstrating Maas's intricate long-term plotting abilities. The narrative's escalating conflict becomes significant because character relationships serve as its emotional foundation. Under Aelin's leadership her court evolves from independent actors pursuing their own interests to a found family that sacrifices for each other. The transformation of relationships appears authentic because it develops through shared experiences and mutual respect instead of being forced for plot purposes. anyone else feel personally victimized when you glance at the mins left in chapter mark on your kindle and see more than 1 hour?? I’m a fast reader but there’s something about starting a long chapter that just makes me ughhh - just me? 🤣 I tend to only stop reading after finishing a chapter so there’s that
