In the words of Leonard Cohen, "poetry is just the evidence of life...if your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash." This quest is for those who love poetry, hate poetry, want to write it, read it, or perhaps have nothing to do with it (or all of that at once)!

from it if you wanted to introduce a friend to it for the first time! And a fun fact about the genre, the author, or the subject for intrigue if you want.
Building my 2026 tbr and trying to break out of algorithmic suggestions and PR pub lists across the internet. Would love a more niche suggestion and not one at the top of every recent best seller list unless it realllllly spoke to you.
I'll start by recommending the The Feather Thief: Beauty, Obsession, and the Natural History Heist of the Century, a book I read while backpacking Italy and got weirdly emotional about! It has art/museum heist, niche sporting lore, history of capital and naturalism that shaped colonial oppression all wrapped up in a really beautiful story. Perfect book for a long train ride or wandering around a local park. Or this at time of year, snugged up in a coffee shop window. I never expected to enjoy learning about fly fishing but here we are!

i find thereâs often an overlap between plant people and book people, is anyone here a fellow plant lover?? i collect tropical plants and have over 100 in my collection! btwn all my books and my plants there is very little spare room in my teeny apartment as you can probably imagine.
my favorites are my monstera deliciosa (named murphy and is so big he lives at my parents), monstera thai constellation, my philodendron squami (which i grew from a one-leaf cutting and is now taller than me, this is me flexing), my coffee plant (which just FRUITED!!!) and my florida ghost!
tell me about your plants! and if you need recs for easy plants to keep alive let me know, i firmly believe anyone can be a plant person with the right plant âĄÌ

Thoughtful and emotionally evocative writing.

Breezy beach read. Didn't feel cringe or cheesy like much of this genre does.

Does anyone have any good recs for alternative history? Like 'if X had survived' or 'if X had died' and the butterfly effect that could have had? I've had a little look for lists and couldn't find anything but feel free to point me in the right direction in case I missed anything!

Very good for audiobook experience and perfect book to listen to while doing chores. It's not very serious and some parts did not require the same attention and detail displayed in the first book.

Could devs update the FAQ question on points and how they function/points behavior? or is there an app wiki I missed? because the FAQ essentially just says what gets you points is subject to change. I really appreciate all app developers explaining things through announcements but there is no central place that I have been able to find through searching the club forum or the FAQ or online that explains what activities qualify for points.
Idc about points hunting (and separately, not sure why some users are upset that other users do this if this is a feature) but if an app is going to have a ranking/points feature to differentiate power users and [sociologically] encourage users to follow people with higher points badges, then it shouldn't be opaque and confusing. For example, I recently came across a comment that said you don't get points on reviews if you have already rated a book? I am pretty tech savvy so understand coding limits causes some behavior on front-end to feel wonky, but if I hadn't happened across that post, I would have had no idea and despite having read announcements and FAQ, which kind of sucks. Most users are not neck deep in every app they use and that shouldn't be the expectation because I really like this space but ingroup/outgroup stuff like this feels alienating.
Anyway, if any community member could clarify a summary of points here or if devs could publish documentation on the FAQ, it would be deeply appreciated. Apologies in advance if there has been a complete guide available and I have not been able to find it!
