This may be a bit niche but Iâm very curious as I think the reason PB does so well is authentically and truly expanding us Boundlingâs genre range. Not only that, it exposes us to different perceptions of âclassicsâ or âfirm favouritesâ either in the sense of a âtrueâ classic or classic from growing up/staying with you as a reader.
The Guardian has posted their 100 books of all time , through asking 170 critics, authors and academics âworldwideâ for their top 10 novels of all time then ranking them based off the collective. Whilst it seems to have been spearedheaded by two women (one being BIPOC) and they note improvements in diverse representation - the list still feels predictable?
It raises a question of books that are deemed âimportantâ reads (mainly by the west/Europe) and peoples genuinely favourite reads. Iâm a bit cynical of what the pool of the guardian looks like, and even more so that it truly is âworldwideâ.
Obviously, having really enjoyed the diversity from PageBound, Iâm curious if we did a pool here, would it look similar? Would it represent more genres? Would it truly have a global scope?
So Boundlings, I hate to ask the impossible question but what are your top 10 favourite reads of all time? Doesnât have to be in English as I know there is actually a lot people on here whoâs first language is different! And that should hopefully add to the true representation in this list Iâm hoping to see on here!
Iâll then try and do a ranking based of the answers and will either update this post or do a separate on (barewith me on the update and also depends if anyone answers this call!đ )
Edit: Whilst I agree with some of the Guardianâs picks it felt predictable? And I have for sure read some books, especially recently that I think should go down as âone of the greatsâ. The Guardian do disclaim they know itâs a touchy subject and tough to whittle down truly but as PageBound (I find) already seems to have a truly diverse community in both genre preferences and individuals on it, this is meant to be a fun idea!
Edit 2: Requirements are subjective, so either a book thatâs made an impact on you/ you thought were just written incredibly/ right book in the right time of your life/ if you reread, ones you reach for repeatedly or just you throughout enjoyed!

Hi! My book bestieâs birthday is coming up and I want to get her some fun book related presents! I have of course thought about getting her some books but I wanted some other ideas. What are some of the best book related presents you received or what is something you bought yourself that you would have loved to receive as a present?! Trying to win all the best friend points. Thanks for the help!! đ
