Io che non ho conosciuto gli uomini

What a journey! This book is a relentless roller coaster, 770 pages that never truly slow down. It’s very different from the first volume and impossible to compare. The story expands, the stakes rise, and the protagonist endures yet another descent into chaos. I loved the character development and the constant plot twists, some expected, many not. Just like in Game of Thrones, no one is ever safe, and losses feel both inevitable and devastating. The final chapters had me on the edge of my seat, each revelation overshadowing the last. This trilogy feels like pure craftsmanship, and my expectations for the final book are sky‑high. At its core, the story isn’t just about empires at war, but about the timeless clash between those who have everything and those who have nothing. It mirrors the imbalance of our own society: the wealthy exploiting the poor, the powerful masking indifference behind performative activism, and the oppressed fighting back with a fury born from centuries of neglect. The resilience of the South is the beating heart of the narrative, and it refuses to be silenced.
