My heart can not handle these plots. Golden Son by Pierce Brown is THE book that made me want to discover in depth Sci-Fi. Red Rising was not what I was expecting, more of a Hunger Games, less of a space opera. Golden Son is, I believe, what you can wish for in a space opera. It is the cool kid. You have so many scenes making you feel so much emotion. It reminded me of when I first started reading a long time ago. Be careful, Darrow is an untrustworthy character and decides to tell you what he wants. So even though you are in his head, you always get surprised. I had to get used to the writing style, which is really fast-paced, with short phrases. But that is also why I believe you get so invested in the action. You get battles, strategy, deaths and love, what can you get more?
