Just started. Cracking up over Nahri and Ali freaking out about being in Egypt because I can't stop imagining it being similar to the scene from Schitt's Creek, like so:
Nahri: Ali, you have to release the seal so I can use magic.
Ali: okay...what does that mean? How do I do that?
Nahri: You know you just...release the seal.
Ali: Yeah I heard you but, how?
Nahri: I couldn't be any clearer, Ali. You just do it by releasing it.
Ali: I swear to god if you say release it one more time
(If you haven't seen that scene, I recommend searching "fold in the cheese" on youtube)

Can’t wait how the events of this book will trickle down to the next book in the universe. Side note: you can definitely read this book as a stand-alone like I did but it was a bit confusing at first. This world feels really elaborate and with the obvious ethnicity blended in which I personally love. I will buy the original trilogy where the universe is build and try and remember this post and update on how important the universe building in them is to read this book
