this was so much more than i expected, more than a love story it was a beautiful and heartbreaking story of discovering who you are, of navigating the word as a teen and learning what life means this was sweet and raw and gut wrenching the writing is perfect, the descriptions of the cities are everything the last 20 pages are truly a masterpiece and so important to me elio's character is a perfect picture of first love and growth and grief at the same time loved loved loved this book, i cant wait to go back to it

at first i had a hard time getting through this book because the writing was different from the first one, i think the first half was a lot of words for not a lot of plot and repetitive but the second half was way better i think my problem was that i much prefer being in the head of linus than arthur but i understand why it was important for this book i loved the representation in this one and the acknowledgments (yes its not part of the story who cares) are so important to me, especially now tj klune is one of my favorite author and his stories are so important and im so glad they exist, i wish i had these kind of stories when i was younger

ive never given 1 star to a book but this was so bad i don't even know where to start first the writing was so bad im starting to think its a first draft second its so long and for what ? if this book was 200 pages it wouldve been the same, it was so repetitive lastly the end is so rushed and disappointind and made no sense it was so so bad dont waste your time there's so much books out there better than this

Everything in this book (at least the whole idea behind it) is unbelievably relevant, and will continue to be relevant for the rest of time. Even if the protagonist is misogynistic and gross, this book matters, and I’m glad I took the time to process and think about what 1984 is saying, and how easy it can be to keep control once you’ve gained it.
