jacob tierney, your mind!! 🤯 this isn’t terrible but it’s certainly rough, although in my opinion this is a fun read and isn’t meant to be taken too seriously and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It did lack a lot of substance though which in my case I was able to make up for it with whatever the show added or took out (I seriously can’t imagine reading this before the show came out lol) but having read this I have even more respect for the show runners and hudson and connor. I feel like I can’t even give a fair review, since this paired so well with the show, and half of what I have to say would just be obsessing over the script and the performances and how perfectly they executed this story. This pulled me in enough to want to continue reading the series though, so some things definitely worked!

oh also these are grown ups who apparently cannot handle their friends breaking up........ like so Wyn and Harriet are okay with pretending they are still together meaning that the can kind of co exist in peace so I have NO idea why they won't just tell their friends they are broken up. They are acting like parents hiding their divorce from their children to 'protect' them like come on dude grow tf up. I mean if this place IS Harriet's so called happy place then won't she be happier WITHOUT the burden of pretending and lying. The only reason I can see in not doing so is they still love each other which ig is the point of this book but that does not mean it isn't entirely insufferable and also girl he broke up a 8 year relationship over a 4 minute phone call have some respect for yourself and drown this man in the closest body of water you can find. No I mean seriously the audacity of this man to show up and kiss her like this after 6 months is pissing me off so much I would have thrown hands. ALSO HOW FRAGILE IS THIS FRIEND GROUP OHMYGOD IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE GONNA BE THIS SAD OVER YOU BREAKING UP WITH SOMEONE WHO CLEARLY DOES NOT CARE ALL THAT MUCH ABOUT YOU BECAUSE IF HE DID THEN HE WOULD HAVE HAD THE BALLS TO BREAK UP WITH YOU IN PERSON AT THE VERY LEAST THEN YOU SERIOUSLY NEED NEW FRIENDS. I would kill any man who dares to treat my bbg like this mfer treats Harriet cause lets be honest the only reason he even wants to pretend they are still together is cause she would get the friend group in the break up, including Parth, so really this is one selfish piece of shit. (and I will still read this book to the end cause I do not know what is good for me apparently) (I am officially in hate reading season)
