I was a bit unsure about getting into this, with regard to the high page count of this one, and the cowboy topic not being one that particularly has me awestruck, but damn I really underestimated M. Danielewski. This has me hooked already, also seeing as the first 60 pages only make me feel like i dipped half a toe into the intro! Stoked on what’s to come!

✨✨✨More than I expected!✨✨✨
Oh this was so much more than I expected! I thought this was going to be a fluffy fairy romance. There’s so much more going on. I was surprised how much political intrigue there is and ruthlessness!! I’m pretty sure I don’t like any of the characters, 🤔, but this isn’t a story where I need that. The world building is done so well and I can’t wait for more! I’m so curious to see what happens. Can’t wait to get the second audiobook on loan from the library!

I wanna know who the HELL let me wait this long to read this book. This is music to my ears, salt to my tongue, perfume to my nose. Incredible.

I can already tell from the beginning that this will change the lives of early teen girls who are most definitely too young to be reading this but borrowed it from the library unbeknownst to their parents. I love books that make me feel like a wide-eyed child again.
