Honestly- if someone sends me death threats through messages, I would definitely share it to my husband 😬
Also this book really have an interesting choice of POV to share the crimes that happened in the book. Not a really unique crime too tbh.

Post from the Fire & Ice forum
Made it a goal of mine to read a winter olympic sport romance for 2026 since we are in the midst of the winter games, and I am pleasantly surprised at this!
I mean I didn't think I wasn't going to like it, but for some reason I was expecting this to be pure smut, and it hasn't been! I'm learning so much about curling and it's actually entertaining me, not boring me at all. Now I want to watch the curling competitions lol.
Definitely can't wait to see where this goes!

I have a theory about this that I honestly want to dive more into research wise. I commented this on someone else’s post but I have personally always found the phonetic nature in which Joseph speaks to be pretty straightforward and easy to to understand (this is no hate to those who don’t). I have formed a theory that it’s due to being raised in Appalachia which has its own unique dialects and sometimes even spellings depending on education and upbringing with the older generations. Seeing as how the Appalachian dialect is an offset/mix of settlers dialects and language (including the Yorkshire accent) I think there’s something there. Curious if any other Appalachian readers have this experience? I am considering doing a deep dive into this for my blog or something tbh.

I reaaaally adored Reid's language throughout this whole book. Her writing depicts how much she cares for and respects history, as well as the history of language.
Honestly, I feel like she could've just written this without the direct references to Macbeth. She keeps the theme of blood so strong, of the core story pretty strong, but twists it in such a marvelous way that I really think this could've stood out on its own without being the story of the Macbeths. I think she could've had a different cast of characters, and just plainly state that Macbeth was huge inspiration for the novel, I didn't really need the actual characters in it.
I LOVED the witches. LOVED the changes she made. This was my first Reid book, and I want more!
