Kolker might be my favorite nonfic author now. I really realllllly enjoyed that he didn't insert himself into the narrative, AT ALL. The reader isn't given an explanation as to how he met the family, why this book came about, he simply let the story tell itself, because it needed to be.
I absolutely ate this up and can't wait to read his other book, and see what he comes up with in the future.
My heart is gushing for the Galvin family, who suffered abuse and the many repurcussions of mental illness. I loved getting the different perspectives, and for getting the interlude chapters describing the effects different doctors, as well as the Galvin family, had on schizophrenia research.

I have now started to keep a list of terms this author uses to describe genitalia because it's hilarious.

An introduction to the Horror genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

I love Wendig's voice as a writer. He's hilarious, modern, and has great characters.
Definitely could feel the horror within the pages. Felt "House of Leaves" meets "IT" meets creepypasta meets videogames
def recommend for horror fans

on par with CMBYN's sense of yearning, but Sunburn had even more poetic aspects to it. I loved this I loved this.
