Part 2 was such a roller coaster of emotions. How am I supposed to handle Part 3??

My third? fourth? reread ! Can't help myself after finishing WR. I need to see if I'd have a different perspective while reading this one.

Getting some Harry Potter vibes from all the "first day of school" tours and introductions! And yes I know the movies were filmed at Oxford 🪄

I didn’t trust anyone to begin with but now I REALLY don’t know who to trust.

At this point, I’ve forgotten who we’re supposed to fight, and that probably sums up this series pretty well.

4.25 ⭐️ If the vibes you’re looking for are paranormal, folkloric, and angsty, then this series is for you. The first novella was good, this one was even better. I wasn’t sure how Veronica Roth was going to up the stakes, but she did it.
The audiobook is such a beautiful experience. the narrator nails the distinction between each characters. The growing bond between Dymitr, Ala, and Niko is so precious, and the narrator brings them to life in a way that only makes me more attached.

I started this book for the interesting premise. There are strong themes of artistry, emotional expression, and leaving your legacy. What kind of effects does art fueled by negativity and selfish motivations have on the world?
However, the MC is unfortunately quite annoying. From 20-50%, Lewis had me SO aggravated. His motivations and decisions were unjustifiable. I was so aggravated I had to go vent to someone about it.
I kept reading to see if this particular arc would serve a purpose. I’m glad to say that it does, but you’ll have to wait until the end to see it come full circle. However, I really wasn’t annoyed anymore in the second half of the book because the plot got pretty good. I appreciate what the author managed to cook up here
However, I was not into the romance subplot. I still don’t understand why the romantic interest would reciprocate the Lewis’ feelings. I simply cannot imagine liking someone who did something so significantly stupid. Thanks to this, the epilogue felt pretty corny to me. Otherwise, this was a fairly interesting read.

I enjoyed this audiobook quite a bit! The premise was so interesting, and I really liked this combination of characters. The vibes are cozy, bookish, foodie, and a little bit mysterious.
My only criticisms are that the switch from third-person perspective for the main characters and first-person perspective for the others threw me off, and I honestly wish there was a more conclusive ending. Hopefully, this means that there will be a second book because I’m fully invested in the Night Library family!
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this ALC!

I’m really liking the mysterious library vibes so far, but the change in perspective totally threw me off 😅
