Doing a reread on this book again because I'm trying to remember objectively what I didn't like about the story. Made me wonder if there is actually anybody with Alexithymia who has read this book and commented on how accurate/representative of the condition it is, especially written by an author who doesn't have that condition and lacked the in depth research of the condition.
Please do let me know if you have any resources!

The writing feels intentionally sparse, disconnected, and so detached to the point I felt groomed to feel psychologically distant from István (very much intentional by the author, and something that needed to get used to).
We, the readers, do not fully get indulged in István's thoughts and feelings, same way he's isolated his thoughts from his mom, wife, son, and friends. It was frustrating how I, as the reader, didn't fully GET István and how he navigates life, even after finishing the book, but that's just the way he is.
“He (István) still doesn’t quite have the hang of this” either.
