This was a quick, spicy little read that gave exactly what it promised — heat, tension, and a fast-paced story that kept me entertained. 🔥
I liked the concept and could definitely see the potential in the plot. The spice was well done and delivered just the right amount of steam without feeling over the top. 🌶️ But I wanted more from the story itself. The pacing felt a little rushed, and there were so many elements thrown in that it sometimes felt disjointed. A bit more depth and backstory would have really helped it hit harder.
The audiobook narration was decent overall. The female narrator did a great job capturing the FMC’s energy, but the male narrator’s voice didn’t quite match the MMC’s vibe for me — it was a bit too softly spoken for the character he was portraying. 🎧
That said, it’s still a fun, steamy, and easy listen if you’re after something quick and spicy to fill a weekend.
⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (explicit and frequent enough to keep it interesting)
❓Is this your vibe? ✔️ Yes if you want a quick, spicy audiobook with a possessive edge and easy pacing. ❌ Maybe not if you’re after complex world-building, layered character development, or a deeper emotional plot. Edit Review

The start initially felt a bit scattershot and overwhelming, like being thrown into a swirl of ideas without much guidance. But honestly, once you settle into Lassiter’s rhythm, you realise he meant to throw you in the deep end. And he absolutely does not hold back. His words confront you head-on, pushing you to reflect on society far beyond the surface level.
It’s a challenging read in the best sense: one that forces you to take a real, honest look at yourself and sit with what you find there. But Lassiter’s humour — sharp, cheeky, perfectly timed — softens the blow just enough to keep you engaged rather than overwhelmed.
Bold, honest, uncomfortable in the ways it should be, and surprisingly funny when you need it.

This book had me hooked from the start. The writing, the atmosphere, the chemistry — I was fully invested and devouring every page. For the first two thirds, I was obsessed. It was intense, emotional, and beautifully written. 😍📖
Then came the final act… and somewhere along the way, it lost me. The direction shifted in a way I didn’t quite connect with, and the momentum that had me glued to the story just fizzled out. I completely respect what the author was trying to do with the narrative layers and the clever structure, but personally, it didn’t land for me.
That said, I still admire the ambition of this story. The writing is stunning, the emotions are raw, and the tension between the characters is unforgettable. Even if the ending didn’t quite work for me, the journey there was an experience.
⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐💫 (3.5 stars) 🌶️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (steamy and emotional, perfectly matched to the story’s intensity)
❓Is this your vibe? ✔️ Yes if you love emotional, twisty romance with layers of mystery and unreliable narration. ❌ Maybe not if you need a clear-cut ending or prefer your plot twists straightforward.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning. The slow burn was done so well, and even though it took its time, there was enough spice woven through to keep the tension high and the payoff satisfying. It felt balanced, addictive, and impossible to put down. 🔥📖
I adored the MMC. His inner conflict, the turmoil he carries, and the weight of his choices made him incredibly compelling. And the FMC was just as strong. Her sheltered upbringing added a believable innocence to her decisions, and her internal struggle really came through in the writing.
The romance was front and centre, but the plot absolutely held its own. Vampires, witches, secrets, high stakes… it kept me fully invested. And that twist toward the end? Loved it. I have questions. Many questions. The good kind. The kind that make me desperate for book two. 🧛♂️✨
⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (slow burn with steady heat throughout)
fave quote 💬 “Good. Very good. You’re doing so well,” he whispered. “Seeing you like this makes me so hungry.”
❓Is this your vibe? ✔️ Yes if you want romantic fantasy with magic, tension, supernatural drama, and characters whose inner conflicts actually matter. ❌ Maybe not if you prefer fast-burn romance or tightly wrapped endings.

Unhinged Cain – Brooklyn Cross
This one surprised me. At first, I wasn’t feeling it — I couldn’t quite connect with Cain or the setup — but somewhere along the way it completely pulled me in. What starts off feeling chaotic quickly becomes deliciously dark, violent, and addictive in the best possible way.
The plot is pure madness — think obsession, danger, and a love story that really shouldn’t work but somehow does. It’s over-the-top, gory, and so unapologetic about what it is. I went from side-eyeing the opening chapters to devouring every last page.
Cain is exactly what the title promises: unhinged, unpredictable, and completely feral. The FMC’s mix of fear, curiosity, and twisted affection made their chemistry even more intense. The balance between brutality and intimacy is wild — graphic, but weirdly emotional at times too. And honestly? I just wanted more. More fallout, more chaos, more of their messed-up bond.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️¼ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (explicit, detailed, and constant) CW: graphic violence, gore, references to sexual assault
❓Is this your vibe? ✔️ Yes if you like your romance pitch-black, unfiltered, and morally dubious, with a hero who’s as dangerous as he is magnetic. ❌ Maybe not if “good girl” praise makes you cringe, or if you need your love stories to stay even remotely sane.
