“The truly strong spirit pursues something that holds no promise of reward except for the fact of doing it”
I really like this sentence. It’s not about what you get out of it, the fact you choose to do things is neat in itself.
Very cool. I’m only four pages in and I’m enjoying the read.

It was my first time reading a proper murder thriller story book without an element of romance. From the first page this book shocked me, it painted a clear picture as to what is out there in the world. And that scared me. As much as it is fiction, there are spaces on this world where the worst happens because it can, and that is terrifying. A good read, that has me questioning life lately.

Since the first chapter I felt anxiety. But this is a new level of anxiety I have for Moss. I have only felt like this in dreams where I’m running from something or someone in my dreams and it’s only a matter of time until they realise I’m gone or realise I’ve started running. Scary and exhilarating.

I enjoyed reading this book, especially the first half of it.
The book is weird, it’s strange, and it’s funny.
The characters are complex, but Greta is more complex.
She made me laugh, and then she infuriated me. It felt like Greta had plunged a knife into her and was showing me how she was twisting the blade in deeper as she made worse and worse decisions as I read more of the book.
It was messy, it was toxic, she was on a roll. No signs of stopping.
I know this is nonsense to think that women in their 40’s don’t get horny anymore, but the book reassured me that it’s still a thing regardless—and I felt relieved. Which is odd, oh well.
Maybe I like how real and personal Greta felt at times, even if she was a messy complicated woman who committed privacy breach crimes and lied like it was second nature.
I also thought the ending was going to be different, however as much as I wanted a somewhat positive/happy ending for the messy story.
Messy stories don’t always want happy endings themselves.
