Hi everyone! ๐ฅฐ
Does anyone have fantasy, horror or sci-fi recs that have no romance in it, like not even a little bit? I've been going through a lot of lists and reviews but somehow it's very hard to find something without a romance in there somewhere. I understand of course that it's a genre a lot of people find appealing and there is nothing wrong with that ๐ฅฐ
I'm aroace, and i find romance in books boring at the best of times ๐ I'm a big fan of found family, stories about siblings or family, as well as deep friendship bonds that even go as far as platonic love.
If anyone has some recommendations, shoot them my way ๐ซถ

Completely unrelated to the story, forgive the tangent:
It started in a highschool computer lab with a race to see who could get from a random Wikipedia page to Jesus in the fewest clicks, using only hyperlinks to hop around the site like a frog jumping from lily pad to lily pad across a pond.
Humans are so cool because this is such a niche shared experience. I remember doing this in highschool as well but for different end goals. It's not like anyone showed us this game, though, so how is it so universal? We all just saw the blue links and thought the exact same thing?

I have read so many books and witnessed a thousand lives. I loved reading since I was very little. I believe I am who I am because of this.
That being said, I am curious of when your first memory of reading was. Or if you started reading later in life, what was it that finally drew you in?
I was 5 in my first memory. It is of my dad, with his limited English, reading โAre you my Mother?โ. We only owned three books and I would make him read those books every night.
