So Iâm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this but I wasnât sure where else to post it.
My therapist suggested that I either join or start a virtual book club in order to meet people.
If I did start a book club we would only read classic novels since most of those are in the public domain and so would be the easiest to access.
I did find a website that allowed you to join/make a bookclub. Here is the link if anyone is interested: https://bookclubs.com/join-a-book-club/online
If you are interested please either comment on this post or if there is a DM feature on Pagebound.
I donât want the group to be big one as to not overwhelm me or the group members. Iâm thinking about 4-5 people in the group.
Hopefully this doesnât get me in trouble đ

I convinced my dad to take me to a local used/new bookstore (my dad is a very bookish man, and as a kid, he'd be cheap when it came to me and my brother's toys, but books? Totally different story pfft) and get me a book for Valentine's day, and now I'm wondering how often you guys buy new books and what factors into that.
I haven't bought a new book in months and months, but I moved recently so that's been a pretty large factor in book buying. (Can't buy a book if you're packing, can't buy a book when you're unpacking. Sad times...) But! I also moved right next to a library so that's been supplying me well.
If libraries weren't so easy to come by in my city, I'd spend a lot more money on books, probably.
(I got A Psalm for the Wild-Built and An Unkindness of Ghosts!!! Super excited for these!!)

For people that thrift, how do you personally go about it?
I get the majority of my books off of Thriftbooks, I know some people have had bad experiences with them but I personally have only ever gotten one book that wasn't the quality described, and when I contacted them they immediately sent me a replacement, so I like them a lot.
I wish I had thrift stores near me that had books I would actually want to read, not much in terms of speculative fiction around here đ
I've tried looking at Pangobooks, but it kind of intimidates me idk why đ I feel like the website never works well for me and feels unintuitive, have any of you tried it and liked it?

I adore it when someone writes a book about something incredibly specific just because they're passionate about it.
Thought I'd ask and see what's the (in your opinion) book you own/have read with the most niche subject matter? I say non-fiction but I suppose fiction works too, I just would be less sure how to define it
I have a degree in a pretty obscure subject (not specifying to avoid doxxing myself lol) but I don't think anything I read for that comes close to 'The Construction of Race in Les Misérables Fanworks' by Dr Nemo Martin XD . Hopefully I'll be able to think of some others I know of...
I feel every book, no matter how obscure, has it's audience Does anyone have any niche non-fiction they like?
