Question for people who finished this series: Is this series worth it? I finished Throne of Glass, and I DNFed The Assassin's Blade, and I'm honestly starting to doubt if I should finish this series or not. I am 8% in Crown of Midnight, and I honestly can't. I find Celaena very annoying, and I'm mad about the thing with Dorian 😭

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.

An introduction to the Romantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

Creepy crawling vines, sentient mushrooms, or a killer forest; no matter what shape they take, plants and fungi play a main part in these horror novels.

Okay guys genuine question! I first read Assassin's blade and that was a 4 stars for me. I read throne of glass and then that was a 3.5 stars not because I didn't enjoy it. In fact, I loved it, it was a really enjoyable read but I didn't feel as involved as the prequel novella 😭. I felt more connected to Celaena personally in AB, I loved her in tog as well but yeah, it was for only the hard to get through parts. I am sure there will be 2 to 3, 5 stars in the series for me but I want to be prepared for this book! Will it be the same as throne of glass and hard to get through at some parts but still enjoyable or kinda more enjoyable?

No guys, but you have to tell me the truth: is Laurent just like Cardan but blond and for gay people? Because I’M SAT, I love them feisty and with a whole baggage of unresolved unreflected traumas

here i go again with my first reread of this series, in the original language on top of that.
there's just something so eerily magical about the folk of the air, the way it doesn't really play into the popularity of tropes it includes (perhaps because people weren't so crazy about them back then when the book first came out) and is entirely its own thing. and that's why i love the series so much—it's unapologetically full of its own distinct magic.

Outside freezes, so I want chills in my book
Horrors and thrillers set in winter (21st December to 20th March, but I will count earlier December as winter too to make things easier)
The list will contain both more known books that you've probably already been recommended and some that I've seen have had less attention, at least over here. I have not read them all, but I want to complete this list myself too during the next Christmasses.
