I’ve been wanting to read some medieval fantasy books and was wondering any anyone had any recs or know of any lists? Bonus points for ones with knights, dragons, or Arthurian vibes.

Over the past ~year or so, I've seen discourse on several fantasy books that are "inspired by" historical [insert-country-here]. While these books draw inspiration from aspects of a real country/region/place, the worlds in the books themselves are completely fictional. Often the discourse I've seen has been full of frustrations about the fictional world and its myths, culture, language, etc. being incorrect when compared to the real history of the inspiration country.
Also in the past ~year, I learned that within the industry, "historical fantasy" as a subgenre only applies to fantasy books written in a real country in a historical time period. Therefore, a book inspired by a country and written as taking place in an antiquated time period, but that ultimately exists in a fictional world, is not considered "historical fantasy".
As a reader I've never expected a story inspired by but not actually set in a real place to be historically accurate. I would, however, expect true historical fantasy books to remain accurate to their setting. But it seems others may approach this distinction of two types of fantasy differently. I'd love to know others' thoughts on this!

I've noticed that a lot of people on this app seem to have three books at a time listed as "currently reading," which is interesting to me. Especially because these books often (but not always) look to be in similar genres. For me personally, I tend to only have one or two books being read, and usually, one is an audiobook while the other one is print (well, digital print). I might occasionally have a third book in progress if it's a completely different genre, but I can't imagine keeping five at the same time. I also feel like I'm more willing to "pause" or "DNF" books if I"m not engaged, rather than keeping them open for long periods of time. But I'm curious how others feel. How many books do you read at a time, and why does that work for you?
