Hey everyone!
Thought I'd start up a little show and tell by asking what everyone's favourite recent book/book related purchase was.
Maybe it's a book you've always wanted to read, a super cool bookmark, a little reading gadget, or maybe even treating yourself to a specific cover of your favourite books if you're so inclined.
For me, it's buying my first set of The Wheel of Time books. I've wanted to read them for years but have never gotten around to it. Then I found this gorgeous set. Now, I don't judge books by their covers, but these American covers are, in my opinion, just nicer than the UK covers. I love the 80s/90s aesthetic.

So what's everyone else's? Share your happy purchases 😁😁

I’m in such a reading slump atm, nothing is sticking and I don’t feel like picking up the books I’ve started at all 🫠
So here’s my question: what’s the last book you’ve read that had you completely hooked? I’m talking staying up way too long to read, trying to fit in any reading even during the smallest extra minutes you’ve got throughout the day or even finishing the book in one sitting?🤭 Bonus points if it’s fantasy or sci-fi!
Maybe there’ll be something for me to read and get out of this damn slump! 😩

Hi guys! Has anyone here read Caraval? Do you recommend it? It has been in my TBR for the longest time. Is it worth the read? I need feedbacks! 📚

Hello all 👋 So I have been learning Chinese for a while now (not my native language) and like to read fiction in Chinese to help build my vocabulary. I'm wondering if anyone here also likes to read in a foreign language as a study method. If so, I would love to hear your recommendations of books you've enjoyed (maybe books that are not too challenging), or feel free to share what you're currently reading. Of course not every book is in every language, but a lot of the more popular books seem to get translated into lots of different languages.
I'm currently reading a Goosebumps book (Legend of the Lost Legend/失落的傳說) and just finished volume 3 of the Frieren manga which is very cosy. Also have enjoyed reading BL in Chinese, which is a genre I don't read in English 🤔

Inspired by a few videos I’ve seen on BookTok.
I’ll go first with my pick: Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant.
This was soooo hyped everywhere I looked. Reddit, Tiktok, Instagram… The plot looked promising and I was told to expect building tension and full-blown horror! Instead I got bad prose, rushed plot, too many characters with boring backstories, and no horror. I’m still bitter tbh and although other reviews say Grant’s other works are better, I’m unsure whether to even try. I just wanted scary mermaids. 🥲

I’m looking for suggestions of games I can play to keep my hands busy while listening to an audiobook.
I’ve tried and enjoyed Let’s Build a Zoo Viva Piñata Tiny Bookshop Stardew Valley
I’d love to find some mindless cafe service type game I could play.

Hi everyone, and happy May!! I am curious, what is everyone's most anticipated read for May if you have a May TBR?
I'll go first, I'm so excited to finally start the Hunger Games series as I've seen the main four movies, but have never read the books! I'm trying to catch up before the new movie releases in November 🙂↕️

This will be purely based on vibes. If you want a more accurate answer to something that might fit your taste also tell me what genre you'd like the book to be and why you love that item specifically. The item probably won't be mentioned in the recommended book, especially if something specific.
Your favourite item can't be a book, but it can be related to books, for example, a nook, a library decoration, bookmark. Other than this, it can be literally anything that you have in your room and you particularly love.
I'll start: my favourite thing in my room is the deer tooth I bought at the Celtic festival I go to almost every year (it's completely cruelty free, they just find some bones when on hikes, identify them and sell them).

Well well well.. would you look at what time it is! What’s a complaint (big, small, dramatic, silly, serious) that you need to shout to the void?!💭

Finishing up my dissertation and I was talking with my friend about reading, she was giving tips on finding time to read when busy with uni work. Whenever I read I always feel so guilty because I should be doing work instead, and when I read in the evenings it's too much for my brain. Also assignment writing has put me in such a reading slump 🥲 can anyone else relate? Only two more weeks until my dissertation is due 🥳 hope submitting it will get me out of a reading slump, have some summer romance books and fantasy series waiting on my bookshelf
