There were some parts that I liked! The story was definitely engaging and I thought the descriptions of Positano were very realistic - they brought back the memories of when I visited as a kid. But some of these characters were so DUMB it was hard to root for them. The central romance was not very believable. I was annoyed at certain character traits and some of these characters plot. Especially the big twist at the end, it kind of changed one character’s entire personality for the worst and made the romance feel even less believable. But overall this was fun and I was curious to know where it was going to go

This book made me miss my mom 😅
I thought the characters were so well written & I really felt for them as people. Also was not expecting a prominent side character to be trans so that was cool!! Some of the plot felt a little meandering, which I wasn’t always a fan of.
This was also an interesting read after finishing Passing earlier this year. It covers a lot of the same themes/ideas but from a more modern perspective, which I felt like was insightful and interesting. The one that really stood out to me was how each mother approached her situation. Themes of motherhood have been hitting close to home for me recently and so I do admit to being teary eyed through some of it, but it was so validating to read about what I have been feeling inside that I’m not mad at the tears
