Oh Jonathan…
When I first read this, I was studying it— crazy to think it’s been so long now. But now with my folklore studies under my belt, I’m reading this under a different lens. Just slightly. It’s all very interesting.
Must be patient though.

I’m reading this book physically and through the Dracula Daily emails. I’ve been waiting a whole year for this and I’m already thrilled to re-read Dracula in the order it happens.
Soo the updates will be sporadic but I’m excited to try it out for funsies 😊

These scenes are very interesting and out of this world, but the problem is I don’t have any idea what any of these important elements look like and the lack of description is hard to keep up.
What even is a divine beast?
Along with that, I’m confused about what is a relic vs a frag vs an ENGINE
I feel like there’s a lot of puzzles being thrown around and not connecting with clarity… but I really want to read on. There’s something interesting here.

The only problems I’ve had with this book is that a lot of the dialogue and transition is sloppy. Of course, I understand that this was King’s first novel published and I’ve read his other books that come after. I just find it interesting to read the development of style and instinct.
Other than that, there’s some interesting writing choices overall.
