Memoir isn't a genre I typically enjoy, but I've read a few, so I thought I'd give this one a try. Although it's beautifully written and filled with deep emotions, I'm unsure how I feel about it. I'm somewhere in the middle; I don't know if my feelings are positive or negative. In my opinion, the author seemed to become increasingly arrogant. I have many questions, but I'm struggling to formulate them. It's hard to believe she remembers the conversations verbatim from when she was 3-5 years old.
However, it does offer a good insight into geisha culture. Therefore, I'm giving it three stars.

One of greatest tragedies of all time. Mary Shelley is a gem. Wdym she wrote this masterpiece at 18? She really out did my expectations. Her imagery is amazing, her characters are really good. Also, I loved the when the monster was talking about his time in the woods and trying to understand the family. The use of broad vocab and descriptive words to convey emotions is marvellous. I love this books sm :) definitely going to re-read this again.
It's not horror, it's tragedy :(
