Thoughts from 68% you must believe in the paradox

The idea of a flimsy paradox that requires a poor logician to suspend their disbelief for the magic to work feels so familiar. This tenuous hold of a mental state in order to make magic: it reminds me of the mental state required to make art. First, just to begin you have to vanquish your doubt. You have to suspend your knowledge that what you are making may never be good enough, and even if it's amazing, it may never be seen, and even if it does garner attention, it will probably not create change in the world. You have to believe in the vision of your work even when the reality on the page or canvas looks nothing like the image in your mind. You have to hold on to that belief in the face of all evidence to the contrary. When it's "done" you have to become the critic and see the fixable flaws before you send it into the word, all while maintaining your belief in the project. Then you must believe in yourself (even when you are objectively not yet good, still learning your craft) through the rejections and failures of finding an audience. The idea that every painting and novel and song we love has reached us against all odds through this process of the artist building their craft and swimming upstream when the logical thing would have been to give it all up for a steady job with a 401K and weekends spent meal prepping... doesn't that seem like magic?

I think I am way more interested in exploring the character’s, their dynamics, their relationship, their history (not only Alice and Peter but Grimes also) than I am in exploring Hell ??? I don’t care about that aspect of the plot that much, I want them to find Grimes to see how it’ll play out in their character’s arc but not necessarily cause I care about this quest in itself.
