    Yatora and a Hidden Door

I couldn’t tell you when the first time I read Blue Period was. Not because it wasn’t memorable, but because I have read many times since. There’s something so earnest and real about Yatora’s adventure with art. It’s not just learning a form of expression, or just finding a passion. For Yatora, it almost seems as though finding joy and drive with art gave him life. It gave him purpose, and meaning. He isn’t just his art, but he most certainly became more than who he was prior to exploring a whole new world of possibilities.

Finding something you never would’ve expected yourself to so fervently enjoy is like learning about a hidden door in your house. You’ve lived here all your life. This place is your home; your true place of familiarity. It is all of that and yet somehow, there’s more.

    Feeling Seen

I adore Spacewalking with You. I adore watching as Koba learns not only how to feel his feelings and identify them, but also just about the world in general. That dot in the sky isn’t just a dot, it’s a planet. Koba isn’t just a delinquent, he’s a fully fleshed out human being. As is Uno! Uno is a complex person just like Koba. He enjoys order but he wants to challenge himself. He’s exploring a new school with new people, and takes on the challenge of exploring himself and his capabilities while he’s at it.

Uno and Koba both learn to spacewalk with each other as a tether, and I think it’s beautiful.

  • Who is your favorite Booktuber and why is it Jordaline Reads?

No seriously, she’s a nut. I’m currently watching her favorite horror reads and when I tell you I am having a TIME 😂😂😂. She’s hilarious and I’ve read a few of her recs and she’s on to something.

How about y’all? Any faves you want to shout out or recommend?
