I saw a post in Instagram the other day talking about how difficult it is to go back to reading straight books, like the romance is straight and not queer. I felt it! I don't have the motivation to read any fantasy books with a romance subplot that is straight... Does anybody feel the same?? How can I get over it, because I really want to keep reading all fantasy books that I had interest in??

Although there were parts I enjoyed with this story (the sex scenes were alright and the town was cute), I was left disappointed. It was all repetitive, long-winded thoughts that that did absolutely nothing. It felt like it gave me recycled plot points that I already knew from the first book but just added some I love you’s and a villain. 🙄 It was all fluff and filler! Normally that would have totally been fine if it ended properly. It really does feel like this book was written just to fulfill a trilogy contract when the story could have been done in 2. In all honesty, if all three books were out, this book could be skipped and you’d still be okay. Just skim the ending so you know where the third book starts. Stay for Cape Carnage if you love the small towns, but not for the characters. Except Arthur, he has my heart. 😔
