I'm slightly convinced that Cusk writes in a manner to confuse the reader with her vague ideas and sentences. I genuinely felt nothing as the book came to an end.

It makes perfect sense yet I can't agree with it all.

It's giving women written by men so that clearly justifies the rating for this book.

Marquez's writing was enjoyable and this book was really informative as well, I had to research up a lot more than I thought I would have to for such a short novella. It consists of the political history of Chile with a main character that is too annoying. And a great read for a creative person who wants to stand up against the dictatorship of their own country with the help of art. It's about resistance, resilience and much more.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to know the status of the Middle East. The tensions that arose between Saudi and Iran. It's easy to understand and the research done behind this book was really great.

I wanted to read more Rachel Cusk this year and I plan on reading her books. But this one wasn't truly great.
