I read this quite fast and I found this book to be very raw and dark. For a memoir, it was short and I genuinely felt that the book should've been longer to really describe what our main character was going through as she slowly lost her mind.

If your current read had a warning label meant to draw you in, what would it say?
Mine would say, “Warning: men with antlers and wings ahead, proceed with caution” - any guesses on the book?

Hi! 👋🏼
I saw this post from lepper (that's their username) stating that people are also doing this kind of thing/post stating from what country they live in (usually from USA/CANADA) and now from Euroupe. I just want to join in for the funsies and meet other asians like me! Or anyone really who currently live or stayed at an Asian country at some point. 😅
I'm from the Philippines 🇵🇭. How about you guys?

A not so simple question for you all Pagebound. Who turned you into a lifelong reader?
A teacher, a family member, a librarian? Can you remember what book it was that turned the light on?
My main reading influence was my maternal Grandmother and Aunt who used to read to me when they looked after me as a child and teen (to help with writing and language issues). The book that made me read as a teen was eitherPeeling the Onion by Wendy Orr or The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
Edit: I wish I had time to respond to everyone but there have been so many fantastic responses.

It was simply a divine read as I relished in Valéry's writing. He follows Monsieur Teste and writes about him and his life. I found Monsieur Teste to be this enigmatic persona throughout the book along with the right amount of existentialism that makes up most of his character.
