Watneys will to live is stronger than me. personally, i would’ve committed suicide the first day stranded in mars. i really loved this, even as a person who hates science fiction. the scientific explanations were tedious at first but one you get past it, it’s amazing. very funny, watney is so optimistic and smart i couldn’t help but root for him. overall a great read. i didn’t give it 5 stars bc it did give me a headache at times. (also, in my mind Mark looked dev patel for some reason)

a very fast read, i read mostly out of curiosity after watching s4 of bridgerton. it’s enjoyable but still lackluster. hopefully the show will be better

i started this bc i wanted a cute romcom book to get out of a depressive episode but this was a lot more emotional than i thought. i spend the last 40% of the book sobbing uncontrollably for some reason.

Full disclosure: I know I am not Riordan's target audience. I'm reading this book at the suggestion of my elementary-aged child.
The pace is fast and the humor/sarcasm is abundant. But I'm having a hard time truly caring about Jason, Piper, and Leo.
