Hi! I’m currently trying to veer away from reading fantasy all the time because I’m literally flying through them. And I was wondering, I’m enjoying Kathleen Glasgow’s book like girl in pieces. Does anyone have any similar recommendations? Mind you I’d prefer if they’re like upper YA? A bit like girl in pieces. Hope you have a great day! And thanks in advance for any recommendations! Or any book you recommend to try to avoid fantasy a bit

I’ve been thinking about the types of tv show/movies I like to watch vs what types of books I like to read, and I noticed that there are certain genres I prefer as shows/movies and others I prefer as books. I was curious about other people’s preferences, if you even have them.
For example, I lowkey have aphantasia lol I can barely visualize anything at all, so I really don’t like books with long descriptions and worldbuilding because I just can’t see any of it, so I prefer to consume fantasy and sci-fi stories as tv shows and movies where I can actually see the cool settings and creatures. But for the exact opposite reason, I’m a coward when it comes to horror movies, but I love to read horror books, because I can get the scary vibes without imagining the nightmare-inducing visuals haha.
Do any of you also prefer to watch certain genres as opposed to read them? Or do you watch and read the same genres? With or without regards to having aphantasia, but I’d be super interested to hear from those of you who do!

Do you have a neat sorting system? Is there a shelf you're particularly proud of? Do you also forget they exist? 😅
I forget to use them, my shelves are also very messy and most are private because you can't really rearrange the books on the shelf. I do have one for 'books other pagebound users recommended me' that I like having.
*for clarity, i mean the shelves in your library, not lists

I was just hit with the realisation (or remembrance) that I will never be able to read all the books I want to, because there’s simply not enough time, and it made me a bit melancholic…
Does anyone else feel like this? Also, what is a book (or books) that you would love to be able to read at least once in your lifetime?
I would love to have read some of the works in the Library of Alexandria, but sadly that’s not an attainable dream, so I’ll just have to settle for reading everything I can get my hands on. Maybe one day I’ll work my way through my local library! Wishful thinking, I know 😂
What about you, fellow boundlings?

Every month I like to reflect back on the books I have read and pick a favorite book of the month. Then every 3 months I narrow the list down to contenders for Top Read of the Year! I have challenged myself not to change the list after I have made it, my mind might change throughout the year but the list can't. Since the first 6 months of the year have passed I thought I'd share my process and my first contender! My favorite monthly reads: January: The Handmaids Tale February: Beloved March: The Color Purple April: My Year of Rest and Relaxation May: The Radium Girls June: Blood on her Tongue
The Color Purple won the first 3 months and The Radium Girls won the next 3. MY first contender for Top Read of the 2026 is The Color Purple!
Does anyone else bracket out their favorite reads to reach a Top Read of the Year? If you do what were your favorite reads so far this year and what is your first contender for Top Read of 2026? Does your list of favorites change throughout the year? If you haven't done this before I'd love to hear your monthly favorites and your first contender! Are you surprised by your results? Is it difficult or easy to choose?

As a big cat lady I'm surprised I have only read 2 of these! I've got an 8 year old mini cat lady. What do you think she'd like? She doesn't like anything too scary

I cannot recommend the audiobook enough. The narrator reallllllly adds to the ominous vibes throughout the story, captures the MC’s vibe really well, and amplifies the effect of the plot twist tenfold.
I know this book is in a horror quest, and I can see how it would be considered as such, but I believe this book falls more closely into the psychological thriller category. Iain Reid has got to be insanely thoughtful, detail-oriented, and creative to have written such a wild story.
From the very start, the book had an ominous feel to it - that feeling NEVER goes away and honestly just grows throughout the story. I kept feeling confused as to how I was so hooked while almost feeling bored at times (I was ready to rate it like a 3-4 ⭐️ up until the plot twist tbh), so when the plot twist happened, I was SO glad I stuck it through!! This twist was nothing I ever would have imagined (mind you I created several theories along the way) and it was soooo much better than anything I had thought of. It’s so good, I swear the plot twist/ending will make you want to immediately reread it (which I will be doing ASAP).
I will say, there are several trigger warnings - I’m definitely not the best source for this, but at least be wary of triggers such as suicide, themes surrounding mental health disorders, and animal death.
