The fig-tree metaphor resonates so deeply with me. I'm at a point of life when I'm supposed to choose what I will be studying, what university I'll attend and what profession I'll have for the rest of my life. I have always been a very indecisive person and I feel like no matter what I'll choose, I will end up sad and mourning all the possible futures I could have had. I avoid thinking about my future at all because it stresses me out so much. I just can't make up my mind which of the figs I should choose, so I sit under the fig-tree waiting for all the figs to spoil.
