This book was really hard for me to get into because it wasn't as straightforward as what I usually read. The story starts off very confusing but the book is like a puzzle; remembering even the smallest details helps you to eventually understand the characters and the plot. I enjoyed this book because not only did it make me work for understanding, it allowed me to think about a lot of issues, both social and political while also being entertaining.

When Esther said she didn't know, that hit me hard. I'm about to enter my last year of undergrad and the closer I get to graduating the more uncertain I am about doing what I've always said I wanted to do. I've always had this idea that I was going to be a lawyer, but sometimes it just feels like there's so much I have to do that I don't have time to stop and really consider if it's still what I want or if I'm just following the plan I made for myself a long time ago.
