"I was never built for customer service. Despite all my best efforts to appear happy, likeable and highly employable, people always thought I was mad about something'
I feel this so hard!! The general public are stupid, and I struggle so hard to not be a sarcastic asshole when dealing with them š that's why I'm BoH, tucked away in my little hole of a kitchen, just being a little pastry goblin!

Hello, beautiful communityāØļø I'm here today to ask for book recs, I'm almost done with the Bro and the Beast series and I'm in desperate need to escape reality right now. I'm looking for books with a similar theme, where our main character accidentally jumps into a book and a lot happens and romance happens and a happy ending happens :) thank you in advance for all your recsš«š
Excuse any errors, I'm very sleep deprived rn

I know this might have been asked before. But how do you go about completing/earning quest badges?
Do you hyper-focus on one quest and get ALL of the badges for that one.
Or do you join a bunch of them and kind of just wander about collecting badges as they come upon you out of nowhere when you happen to read that multiple of five you totally forgot was for a quest?!
Can you tell which one i am? š¤£š¤£š¤£
Or maybe you have a mixed approach?
Also have you ever joined a quest simply to collect badge(s) because you already read a bunch of the books, and you want the shiny, with zero intention of reading any others on the quest?

Has anyone else heard about what's going on with this? I know Children of Blood and Bone bounced around from Disney/Lucas Film before settling with Paramount and now the author basically is disowning the adaptation, won't be promoting it or seeing it. Sounds like there was BTS drama, possibly to do with one of the lead actresses. Thoughts?
Edit: Thanks for all the comments btw. I just really wanted everyone's thoughts and opinions on the matter at hand. I am in no way trying to call out Paramount or the actors, nor necessarily the author. Her behavior is a little odd considering the circumstances. I have definitely seen other authors call out or disparage film adaptations (i.e. Stephen King, Ursula Le Guin, to name a couple) of their work. However, that was once the film/project was OUT. Obviously, we don't know what happened behind the scenes but hopefully the truth does come out. I really want the film to do well, as it means the chances of more sci-fi fantasy BIPOC or Indigenous American projects might get a chance to come to the big screen or small screen.

I just picked up 9 books for a two-week trip my family is taking to a cottage in northern Ontario (I also have my kobo loaded up just in case). For context these are books that I can only access physically from this library in my hometown (i.e. none of the other libraries I have access to have them physically or online):
Seven Days in June by Tia Williams Her Lost Words by Stephanie Marie Thornton Paybackās A Witch by Lana Harper The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec Tell Me An Ending by Jo Harkin The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon Followers by Megan Angelo A Sweet Sting of Salt by Rose Sutherland Time After Time by Lisa Grunwald
Which book should I read first? Also what are the odds I actually get through them all in 2 weeks

I think I'm going crazy, what the hell was this?
This book had me freaked out, scared shitless, and questioning my own sanity. I kid you not, I donāt think I've ever been more scared by a horror book (and I don'tscare easily). Going into it completely blind definitely made the experience more unsettling and distressing. It pulls you in immediately and never really gives you a chance to catch your breathāyet, you don't even want a break. A truly mind blowing story that already deserves a reread! š¤Æ
Without a doubt, one of my highlights of the year. šāāļø
