No Less than a Marquess: A Regency Historical Romance (The Night Fire Club Book 3)

ARC review: If you are a fan of Greek mythology retellings, mark April 3rd on your calendars 📅
Lyssa and the rest of the crew of the Alastor are selected (with some help from the gods) to participate in some deadly trials created by the gods to grant immortality to the crew that wins. Lyssa doesn't want to win, she just wants to stop Hercules from doing so. Hercules, her father, the cruel monster that kills without remorse and then looks like a hero, must die, he must be stopped.
In the middle of her plan, someone tags along and makes himself indispensable, Alexios, the son of Dionysus. He is intrigued by Lyssa and her crew and wants a chance to compete with them in the trials. The dynamic between him and Lyssa is hilarious, their banter hides sizzling chemistry that I can't wait to see unleashed in the next books.
The writing style in this is so good! I love the detail of writing this with multiple POVs. At first, I was undecided. Would I really care about them all to want to read their POVs? But as the story progressed, I really connected with Eryx, Hedone, Evadne, and even Theseus. Besides that, I think this use of multiple POVs reminds me of how Greek myths were usually written, it serves to remind the reader that each character (no matter how secondary it might seem to be) has a part to play for everyone's fate. Also concerning the writing style, the pace in this keeps you reading (it kept me reading until 3am to finish it because I simply couldn't stop), the short chapters help to make the story move faster and absorb you more and more.
Last but not least, if you love stories that are accurate to the Greek myths, you have to read this one. Eliza keeps parts of Hercules' myth (she even goes as far as keeping fragments of them throughout the book, my favorite part!) while making some necessary original twists to the story to fit her plot. You won't be able to think about Hercules as a hero after this one, and I love that so much.
Thank you so much to the author for sending me this ARC, can't wait for the next book!
