dating and dragons is a YA dnd romance that takes place in ohio (too close to home) where we follow Quinn and her journey of moving closer to her grandma to get away from her old friends who turned on her. she starts school at a new high school mid year and meets Logan and his friends when her grandma embarrassingly asks him to take a first day of school photo of them. she ends up going their dnd group and learns they have strict rules since they take their live stream playing VERY seriously, which includes not dating within the group. i somehow liked this more than book 1. i didn’t think that a cute YA romance series could level up, but it 100% did. these books aren’t life changing but they are TOO CUTE. i couldn’t stop giggling and kicking my feet. it’s very high school and very nerdy but i was a nerdy high schooler and sometimes you need to go back to your roots. Quinn is overly thoughtful, for understandable reasons, which can be slightly annoying but she’s 17 soooo i looked past it every time. i also have anxiety so im MUCH more annoying. AND LOGAN UGH mr. “it’ll work out IM GOING TO MAKE IT WORK OUT” i’m obsessed. the friend group standing beside her through all of her trauma with her ex friends warned my heart. they’re just such a sweet little found family i cantttt. the streaming aspect was cool too. overall i loved it and will continue the series.
