I liked the historical notes before each recipe. This felt very Europe-focused as well as meat focused.

When Sheās the Monster
Sometimes I get tired of how in monster romances, heās always the monster and sheās a human. Hereās a list of books where sheās the monster. Thereās a mix of pairings. As always, open to recs!

While the comic book style is unique, this book only had a few vegetarian recipes. It did give a good overview of the folds and cooking methods.

Howdy, y'all! I'm looking for more short stories to read. I'm a lover of sci-fi, fantasy, anything that follows the "wouldn't it be weird if this happened!?" form ,but I am open to anything. I'm ok with audio (story podcasts included), print, digital, any form. Has anything ever stuck with you? Let me know, I want to list these in my commonplace book.
For tax, Megan Chee's "The God of Minor Troubles", read by Wil Wheaton on his It's Storytime podcast has lived rent free for the past year-ish.

whatās one book that you would not have normally picked up but did (book club/family & friend rec/popular/mixing it up) and end up loving?

Looking for some cute cozy fantasy with some Latine leads or Latine representation.I love YA fantasy and my favorite authors include Renee Ahdieh, Sabaa Tahir, Elizabeth Lim and Sue Lynn Tan.
As a Puerto Rican woman I also love reading stories that include but are certainly not limited to Latine representation and I noticed that I'm not finding a lot of Fantasy that features Latine leads. Some of my favorite latina authors include Elizabeth Acevedo and Mia Sosa, but they primarily write contemporary fiction. I haven't been able to get into the work of Daniel Jose Older. I enjoy the world building of their work, but not the plot/prose.
My first book of 2026 that I enjoyed was Never Ever After by Sue Lynn Tan my favorite reads of 2025 were A Forgery Of Fate By Elizabeth Lim, Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo, and The Scorpion and The Night Blossom, By Amelie Wen Zhao. I finished Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan two nights ago and although I adore her other works, I was not the biggest fan.
I don't mind adult fantasy. I just prefer for any intimacy scenes not to be too explicit. Fade to black is preferred. The occasional steamy, yet not overly explicit scene is okay

Now I love ThriftBooks but I was wondering if anyone out there has used other websites like ThriftBooks.
Iāve heard of World of Books before and would be willing to try them out. Or should I just stick to ThriftBooks?

Thereās something about this writing style thatās very immediate. Iām curious to see how that plays out as the story develops.
