Hi PB! I'm looking to complete a summer reading bingo card from my local library. I've completed most squares, but of the handful I still have remaining, I'm looking for recommendations under one category: women's sports.
A little about my reading preferences that can help inform your recommendations:
I tend to gravitate towards nonfiction more than fiction (but it's a 60-40 split so not by that much evidently).
I'm a bit burnt out on memoirs, since most of the ones I've read this year have been underwhelming (but I would consider memoir recommendations if it truly left a major impact on you/your perspective of the world).
Of fiction, I don't really reach for romance or smut (no judgement to those who do, just not my jam).
Thanks in advance for any recommendations you have for me!

Honestly it pulled me in with the first sentence. I love Suriâs writing so much. It always transports and consumes me. Also if you think anyone writes yearning like Tasha Suri you are mistaken.

This has probably been mentioned before, but I've only had one cup of coffee , anyways:
What book to movie/show adaptation are you and yes , I mean you , looking forward too if it's not out yet?
What book do you WISH had an adaptation?
I personally have a few answers Off Campus , I really enjoyed the first season
I'm looking forward to Icebreaker , the straight one , not the gay one ( ones only getting an adaptation)
I wish the DC series by Chelsea Curto was getting an adaptation or any other hockey book that's not heated rivalry and Icebreaker
This is because Haunting Adeline is getting an adaptation . im curious how much they would have to cencor and which platform would even stream it đđ though I'll never watch it

Ok, so I'm reading a book by a male author in which the male protagonist's view on women, love and sex and so....icky(?), and I realized that I have really read a book by a male author that doesn't do this to their male characters, except maybe Percy Jackson lmao. Like, it doesn't have to be a romance book, but I just feel like love is almost always just equal to sex, and even then it's almost always in such an objectifying self-gratifying way (bc the problem isn't the sex, yk)? Like I can't really explain it. And yeah, I've read books with female authors where FMCs are somehow like this, but the thing is, I've NEVER seen a book by a male author that has...idk... emotional connection between love interests? ESPECIALLY when you pass the Y/A genre.
And it kinda makes me scared (haha) that like, what if this is just a reflection of how the average man feels towards a woman? Do men just...not have fuzzy feelings over someone that has nothing to do with sex? Was I cooked from the beginningđ?
Yeah so, if anyone has any recs of male written male characters that are loverboys (in the postive way), I would really love them (help restore my faith in humanity lolol). It doesn't have to be in the romance genre (kinda like how fantasy has romance, or thriller can have romance). Bonus if its not a Y/A book.

The author of Magic Lost series, CL Clark made a list of mostly fantasy books featuring butches as MCs!!!

Some of them are the classics and the expected but I didn't know about many of them!
