Did I finish this in one day? Yes. Did I love every second? Also yes. Is it maybe the perfect story wrapped into 200 pages? Also also yes.
Cannot recommend enough! I loved this duology so much. I want it to be a limited series and I want to direct it. PLEASE!

I started off really enjoying this book but I found it far too long. There was a lot of irrelevant parts added to it which took away from the main story and in the end I found it a bit of a chore to finish. Even without the points below putting me off ever rereading It, the fact it went onnnnnn and onnnnnnn is enough to not waste my time again.
I probably would have given this book three stars for the plot alone, but the strange and completely unnecessary pornographic scene between children towards the end really blew it for me. They got lost in the tunnels so the only option was a quick gang bang to bring them together? Why was King even thinking of that!? Beverly was one of my favourite characters and I didn’t think she deserved that.
Another thing I found really uncomfortable to read was the casual racism surrounding the character of Mike, who lets face it was a pointless character to start with. I feel like King only included him so that he could say that the entire cast wasn’t white. I understand this book was written a few decades ago but it was like King had a bet with someone over how many different racist names he could think of for someone to call Mike purely to remind people that he was black. The same with Stan, he was barely mentioned except when the Losers where laughing at him for being Jewish. Him being the first to die was no shocker.
I think this book had the potential to be a lot greater but I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone.

Reading this book as a neuroscience student is really adding to the experience because honestly wtf? Damn. I have so many questions.

I wanted to be really impressed by this, but I’m not so far. It’s rambles on a lot and goes on too many tangents for me. I understand why it was so impactful at the time, but not sure I am getting a lot out of it today.
