Hi all,
With spooky season around the corner I am trying to really dive into mystery/thriller books but haven’t found any books/authors I really connect with.
I feel like I keep hitting a wall by guessing what’s going to happen, the dialogue doesn’t feel natural, and or the twist is just something that’s extremely triggering for shock value?
I’m usually a pretty easy going reader and hoping some recs will pull me out of this slump!
Thank you in advance :)

Did I see the direction it was going in, yes, but I enjoyed it anyways.
Mostly fueled by the growing relationship between Hannah and Bailey, and thought provoking ideals about morals vs ethics.
Feel like it would be an interesting book club read

Levi is a fedora wearing alpha that would be a discord mod but is instead British and hot, so he gets away with stuff, but nerfed him by being blonde, so he’s humble. At times, also anime villain who goes to Euphoria high and runs a reverse harem.
Astrid is a not like other girls 2019 art hoe that would have benefited from a tumblr arc, and gets manic pixie dream girled but likes it because of her severe mommy and daddy issues.
Overall, a hate read but I was entertained.

Confession time. I sometimes read short books on purpose to bump my numbers of how many books I've read.

What a beautiful book about life, what it means to take care of others, and the power of community. Part whimsy, part heartfelt, with some good tears and laughs mixed in. As a former mouse owner some parts hit a bit harder for me but the overall message is universal to everyone. Every creature big or small, old or young is deserving of love and care and sometimes it’s just takes one kind soul to reignite purpose in one’s life. This will definitely be a comfort read for me in years to come.
