in the far corner there's a splash of white: Arabs, in those long bathrobes they wear, the headgear, the striped sweatbands.
BATHROBES??? Striped SWEATBANDS??? 😭🤲 white ppl are so….strange sometimes.

I went on a roller coaster of emotions. From butterfly-tingling sensation of teenage love to sadness then to rage. In the end, I had mixed feelings.
It never believed love was enough for two people to be together. Much less when it involves the suffering of another.
But at the same time, I feel relieved because the true suffering isn’t a broken heart but a heart that is cracked and glued back with false reality.
The book isn’t just about race or love. It’s about a lot of things. However, I did feel suddenly “lost” in the end.

Americanah
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

One word: MASTERPIECE!
This book must be a required reading for any courses about races.
And as Ifemelu’s mother would say, “The God blessed me with the decision to start reading this book.” 🙈🙈🙈

I was told this book was emotional but jeeeezzz
This is what I would say in the truest form is “devastatingly beautiful”
I’m immediately looking to buying Kite Runner next time I go to a bookstore but also my heart needs a break❤️🩹💔🥲😅

Oh man, it must be a bit depressing to get stuck with Nuri at these difficult times. Even if the people around him are helping him to keep his spirits up despite the situation, he has his way of ruining the moment. I get it, the situation he and his wife are in is really tough, but i don’t think that should totally kill the little joys that life still brings.
