Post from the All the Black Girls Are Activists: A Fourth Wave Womanist Pursuit of Dreams as Radical Resistance forum
" Rest is resistance" this is so true. I had a previous client who was a lawyer and she said she takes naps in the middle of the day and she rests because she knows that one day her body will give out and she won't have that option. I have so many friends right now who have been laid off or have quit because of toxic work environments and they've decided to actually intentionally rest because they've never had a moment where they could rest. I think it's beautiful to take a moment to intentionally take care of yourself especially when you live in a world that doesn't want you. Rest is resistance, taking care of oneself when the world tells you to keep on pushing through IS REVOLUTIONARY

The novel was.. interesting. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I like the anime better. There were a lot of things that I'm glad they cut out. Some things this I don't know the writing wasn't as great as I thought it would be and again, there were just a lot of unnecessary things.

This was such a fun read. I love how Cecilia/Cecil I just tried to navigate this world without getting killed. I love the relationship between the siblings Gilbert treats both identities differently is such a cute way and I don't know really how to explain it but I love it it's genuine. Poor Cecilia is trying to deal with the nonsense of a new world and hazy memories of a past life that she doesn't know is real or just a dream. Plus she has to deal with her iance who doesn't know that she are cross-dressing as a boy. I'm excited to read volume two!
