The Patriarchs: The Origins of Inequality

iced-rose commented on mushr00mcore's review of Superior: The Return of Race Science
This is probably one of my favorite non-fiction books. It's a journalistic exploration of the past, present, and future of race science in addition to it's cultural connotations. I did have a few minor issues with IQ and intelligence being presented uncritically and remaining unchallenged despite the fact that these topics are not only controversial but also debunked.
(I don't rate non-fiction)

Crossing my fingers that this time will be the time I successfully get through this book. It's spent 10 years on my tbr. I have started this book a countless number of times, always at the most inopportune times where I cannot finish it and it gets tabled for so long I have no choice but to restart. I am determined to finish this book before the end of 2025.

I've only really just started this book, but I'm already in love with it and it's reinforced my love for classic novels! The drama and the characters are so good it's like watching a soap opera 🫶🫶
