I love this community but I have an issue I see so many spoilers of books on my tbr on the main page!! It also doesnāt help Iām a naturally curious person that I keep on reading even if itās a one line comment š vague comments are okay but when people mention āI canāt believe ____ diedā in the forum without a spoiler itās so annoying. I only add books I will read in the near future to my tbr so it doesnāt help that the spoiler keeps echoing in my mind when I think of picking up the book. How do you guys navigate this?

Iām currently reading Alchemised, if you didnāt know, itās a book that was a fanfic revolving around the Harry Potter characters and The Handsmaids Tale , and I have seen discourse online about how itās inmoral to read this book because in the end it gives JK Rowling attention and more fame.
My questions are:
Is it wrong to support authors that publish fanfiction, if the fanfic was originated from an author of problematic works? (Like JK)
Is it alright to publish fanfiction or do you believe the author of the original material, the world it was based in, should get copyrights and some recognition because fundamentally the story was based on their characters and work?
Do you have some controversial opinion on the matter?

Helloooooooo so I just finished spamming my friend's dms - she asked I promise, even if it sounds very bad said like that x) - because she asked "what books would you recommend to someone who is starting to read in english" as non-native readers/speakers. She specifically asked for 3 recs : one for beginners, one for intermediate readers, and one for bilinguals looking for a challenge (her words not mine) I gave her a few options of my own, even though I'm not so sure about them because I have no Idea where I'm at in terms of "reader level" so I have a hard time determining what book can go where. So, that's why I came to post about it here ! If you had to recommend some books to someone who wants to start reading in english but isn't used to it, which ones would you pick ?

Thinking about reading this It says perfect for the fans of ACOTAR. I DNFed ACOTAR and hated it. Majorly because of the smut. Is this similar to it?

Yāall I cannot make this up. I get to page 148, look at the first line of 149, and the sentences donāt line up together. Weird, right?
Turns out, the page after 148 in my copy is not 149, but 181!!!! My book is missing 30+ pages!!!! šššššššš
