The love story was engaging, but it was the glimpse into astronaut life that grabbed me and I wished there was more of it.

Seriously, no invitation for your sister?? Who looks after your child??? 😀

Somehow I think that this might be best suited for a movie? It'd probably pass along the sense of urgency from the dual timelines better

I have so many thoughts and feelings about this book that I want to write them in my journal instead, but I’d like to share some here. Sometimes I get confused about whose POV it is and who’s being talked to. Maybe it’s just my low comprehension haha. Jude’s backstory is too much, almost impossible, and it’s crazy how the misery seems endless.
What I liked most is the love he received from the people in his college to adult life, how people cared for him despite him constantly pushing them away. And that’s what we have to understand about Jude. Their beautiful friendship and the experiences the four of them shared, growing together with people who also loved and cared for them, moved me deeply.
There were great careers, family, and relationships, but also a lot of heartbreak and shitty things along the way. So many tears were shed, and there’s just so much to unpack. I will forever think about them. This story is forever etched in me.
I’d say read this book with caution, and only when you’re emotionally and mentally ready for all the trigger warnings. I don’t think I’d reread it, but I’ll definitely go back to my annotations. This book reminds us to be kind — be kind in the ways that feel right and genuine to you. And life can be hard, painful, and messy, but there’s still beauty in it, and love that makes it all a little more bearable.
